O2 Mobile Phones
British Telecom remerged in 2001 from its earlier mobile business, BT Wireless and formed O2. Now, O2 is in a
leading position of mobile services for customers in the United Kingdom. Its top ranked position is not only
in non-voice services like video, music, games, media messaging and text, but also data connections like WLAN,
3G and GPRS. O2 UK is a section of the largest O2 group. This group is a completely owned subsidiary of
Telefonica S.A. O2 is made up of mobile network operators in the United Kingdom and Ireland. Also, there are
integrated fixed/mobile businesses in the Isle of Man called Manx Telecom, the Czech Republic and Germany. O2
owns half of the Tesco mobile, which is a joint venture business in the United Kingdom. Half of the Tchibo
Mobilfunk, a joint venture business in Germany, is also owned by O2.
O2 Services
The Alerts and Information service includes an alert for every need. The Traffic line 1200 service is useful
to get live traffic information about British roads and to avoid traffic jams. The O2 Directory enquiry can find
the number of any friend or business. Another service of O2 is messaging. O2 photocards can be sent to anybody
in the world to whom Royal Mail reaches. The recipient's name and address, a text caption for the photo up to 20
characters and a personalized message up to 200 characters can be sent. Media messaging enables to send sounds and
videos to friends and family. The O2 email solutions include; access to personal email through O2 active, sending
and receiving email on the Xda, access to free o2.co.uk email and email accounts from other providers, online
address book, O2 email to mobile, exclusive O2 broadband email services for up to ten o2.co.uk online accounts,
an online diary. The bluebook is used to save a copy of favorite texts, pictures and videos to a password protected
account on o2.co.uk. It is also possible to upload images from mobiles by sending them to 40202 for free. The bluebook
account can be accessed through the O2 active WAP portal. Messages and pictures can also be organized into
albums using the bluebook.
Blueblogs can be created using the content from the mobile to share it with the world. The O2 Contacts service
is used to store the contacts in the mobile phones address book. In the Voicemail 901 system, it is possible to
store almost 40 messages or minutes of messages in a mailbox. The stored message can be up to four minutes in
duration. A Pay monthly customer can store messages up to 30 days. A Pay and go customer can store messages up
to 17 days. A PIN can be set to ensure that only one person has access to the messages. If the person is not
able to respond to the messages for some time, it is possible to keep the callers informed by recording a
temporary greeting. Voicemail can be used to find out the time and date when the messages were received. O2
Active offers a speedy and full color world of entertainment, sport, news, music and games loaded in the mobile
phone. O2 insure provides a large number of handset insurance policies. Purchasing it is simple, if done within
14 days of buying a new phone or upgrading through O2. This time limit is 28 days for online customers. O2
insure is registered in England and underwritten by ACE European Group Ltd.

O2 Cocoon has a 2 Megapixel camera with auto focus, flash and 4 times digital zoom, hidden LED display, FM radio
with RDS, 2 GB internal memory and memory card slot. The Intuitive music interface synchronizes with Windows
media player. O2 ICE has 1.3 megapixel camera with zoom, 3G handset for video calling, 30 MB and memory card
slot, 262K color screen, 2 year manufacturer's warranty and MP3 player + Bluetooth. It comes in three colors - white,
black and ice blue. O2 Jet has a 65K color screen, exceptionally long battery life, Bluetooth, quad band, protective
skin, in-car charger, docking station and Bluetooth. It comes only in black color. O2 XDA Stellar has 3.2 megapixel
camera, Window mobile 6.0, tilting full color touch screen, business card reader and built-in GPS. O2 Xda Argon
comes in silver color and has Windows mobile 2005, external memory slot, Bluetooth, 3.5 inch 65K color screen
and 1.3 megapixel camera. O2 Xda Exec has a QWERTY keyboard, large rotating 65k color screen, Infrared,
Bluetooth, WI Fi, 1.3 megapixel camera with video and 128MB + memory card slot. O2 Xda Graphite comes in
graphite color and runs Windows Mobile 5.0, Bluetooth, Wi Fi, 65k color screen, 64 MB + memory card slot
and 2.0 megapixel cameras with video. O2 Xda Trion has Microsoft Office document support, high speed
browsing and downloading with 3G, external memory slot, 65k color screen and 2 megapixel cameras.
