iPhone History
iPhone History:
The first anyone heard out of Apple HQ about the possibility of an iPhone was in December 2004, when news came that
Apple had been working on a new phone with Motorola as its main partner. About ten months later, under the shadow of
the best-selling iPod nano that Motorola was quick to forget. The relationship between Apple and Motorola soon fizzled
out, in turn feeding the tech rumor that a “true iPhone” was being built by Apple behind the scenes. After
years of rumor and speculation, last January that device was finally announced at Macworld 2007 — and here we are,
just over 10 months later — the iPhone, perhaps the most hyped consumer electronics device ever created, has
finally landed.
Having been launched in the states the iPhone has fortunately for us (UK) been tested by those gleeful yanks so
hopefully all the bugs have been disposed of. We are therefore in the lucky position of having not only a bug free
piece of mobile phone kit but also potentially solid distribution to cope with the high demand that inevitably be
required on launch and through the Christmas season.
